This project transforms China’s rural cyclical markets – known as “feng wu bo shi” gatherings – into an immersive artistic environment through hybrid presentation of photography, audio and physical installations. By engaging audiences not merely as spectators but as experiential participants, the work activates multi-sensory stimulation (visual, auditory and tactile) to evoke embodied collective memory. Challenging the traditional “contemplative” mode of white cube spaces, the work emphasizes “being-there” experience, proposing that true artistic appreciation should emerge from visceral bodily engagement.
